The Spiritual Life Committee will host two evenings of prayer and meditation on the First and Second Sundays of Advent at 5:00 PM in the Church.
Evening Prayer is celebrated in order that 'we may give thanks for what has been given to us during the day.' We send up our prayer 'like incense in the Lord's sight,' in which 'the raising up of our hands' becomes 'an evening sacrifice.’ As we come to the setting of the sun and have seen the evening star, we sing ‘in praise of God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit…’.
Deacon Paul Fisherkeller will lead us in Evening Prayer and offer a guided Meditation in order that we might open our hearts to the Mystery of God’s Presence as we await the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ. This is a great way to prayerfully enhance your personal experience of the Advent Season this year. Let this be a Spiritual Oasis in the often hectic weeks leading up to Christmas. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
